Conflict and Hunger

People go hungry because of conflict. It’s the number one driver of hunger worldwide. In fact, hunger is so commonly used as a weapon of war, that 85% of the world’s population facing severe food insecurity live in countries affected by conflict.

That’s why Action Against Hunger asked us to create an animated explainer video to raise awareness of this issue. The charity wanted to show the Conflict and Hunger animation at a series of Dialogues in New York, Dakar, Nairobi and other capitals in July 2023. They needed a two minute video and a 60-second cut down version.

Our first task was to create concepts for the art direction for the Conflict and Hunger animation, which included developing characters. Action Against Hunger already had a draft script that they wanted us to use, but we helped them to refine it so that it worked with the sequence of the animation. We also took care of casting for the voiceover to find the perfect voice for the organisation.
